July 24, 2024, Toronto – Congratulations to Liam Thexton from Insignia Research for clinching the 2024 Canadian Research Got Talent title. His project aims to bolster Indigenous tourism in Canada, in collaboration with the Indigenous Tourism Association of Canada (ITAC). The research will probe into the domestic market’s familiarity and interaction with Indigenous tourism opportunities, seeking ways to amplify their reach and benefits to the Indigenous people.
Liam is joining ITAC to leverage tourism to tackle socio-economic issues in Indigenous communities across Canada by using tourism to generate employment, foster cultural awareness, encourage social engagement, and aid economic revitalization. ITAC promotes responsible tourism that preserves cultural heritage and stimulates economic development, positioning Canada as a leader in Indigenous tourism and making a substantial contribution to the country’s GDP by 2030.
Liam’s study will also serve as Canada’s entry in the ESOMAR worldwide contest, with a submission deadline of September 23. The RGT competition within Canada is receiving support from the Logit Group and Maru, who have kindly provided fieldwork and sample contributions.
“Congratulations to our winner this year,” announced Sam Pisani, Managing Partner at the Logit Group and Chair of the CRIC Students and Young Professionals Engagement Committee responsible for the Canadian contest. “We are delighted that Liam Thexton will be representing Canada internationally.”
Liam Thexton, the winner of the Canadian RGT Competition, will have the chance to present his research in Research World, the premier publication for market research professionals. He will also enjoy a reduced registration fee to join the ESOMAR Congress in Greece, where he can engage with global experts and see the latest trends and innovations. Moreover, he will become a member of ESOMAR YES, a platform for young and emerging professionals to hone their skills and connect with peers.
