John brings over 20 years of experience in research, insights and analytics. He is the CEO of the Canadian Research Insights Council and prior to that he led the insights and member value functions at CPA Canada, Canada’s professional body for Certified Professional Accountants. John is a founding member of the CAIP Canada Board and played a key role in establishing CAIP Canada.
John has also served as volunteer with Canada’s former research associations, the PMRS and the MRIA. He established Canada’s first professional certification program for insights professionals, the CMRP, and grew the educational programs offered by our industry. He also served as the final president of the PMRS prior to it merging to become the MRIA. John was an active member of the MRIA’s Client Side Insights Council.
Having focused his career on associations, John is always motivated by insights from research and analytics that lead to new ways to offer value to members. John believes that obtaining the CAIP will offer value to professionals in our industry by demonstrating their commitment to a well-rounded skill set that includes both technical skill as well as soft skills including leadership, communication and ethics. When he is not working, you will likely find him mountain biking on the local trails or experimenting with a new recipe in the kitchen.
