Canada’s insights and analytics certification body announces two new candidates have successfully challenged the comprehensive, seven-hour CAIP exam and now join the approximately 400 professionals who proudly carry the CAIP designation.

Hilary Martin, CAIP, is Manager of Research with the Office of the Prime Minister of Canada. Previous to this role, she was at Earnscliffe Strategy Group and has a Masters degree in Political Management from Carleton University. She has been an analytics and insights professional for seven years.

Ian Yuen, CAIP, is Cadillac Fairview’s Consumer Research Analyst.  He graduated from the postgraduate program in analytics from George Brown College and has worked for Kantar TNS and Edelman Data & Intelligence in Hong Kong before landing in his current role in Toronto in May of last year.

“Congratulations to our newest CAIPs,” said Robert Wong, CAIP, FCRIC, Chair of CAIP Canada. “They have demonstrated the competencies to succeed in the world of data.”

By pursuing rigorous professional education, obtaining relevant professional experience and passing the exam, the new CAIPs have demonstrated that they have the superior skills and knowledge required to be a Certified Analytics and Insights Professional.  By supporting their efforts, government and business demonstrate their commitment to quality research insights.

About the Exam

The CAIP exam is a 7-hour, comprehensive test of knowledge and skills with two parts: a short answer component and a case study.  Candidates must score a minimum of 70% on each part.  Analytics and Insights professionals are invited to write the CAIP exam twice per year.  The next sitting is Monday, October 2, 2023; the deadline to register is August 23, 2023. Candidates can also take a hybrid self-study and live preparatory seminar to ensure they have the requisite knowledge prior to the comprehensive test. CAIP is endorsed by the Canadian Research Insights Council and ESOMAR. Candidates can choose from different pathways to earn their CAIP designation. There are currently approximately 400 CAIPs in the industry.
